About SVDP Moorestown

Who We Are

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Moorestown is a non-profit  local conference of The National Council of the United States, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Inc.,  a non-profit organization that serves more than 5 million people annually in the United States. Members, known as Vincentians, faithfully serve those in need through their local SVDP Conferences.  We are a Catholic lay organization committed to growing spiritually and forming friendships to better help those in need.

SVDP Moorestown does not receive federal, state or local funding. We rely upon the generosity of the community to help us provide a hand up to  those in need.  Approximately 98% of all donations to SVDP Moorestown go directly to serving those in our local community.

Our Mission

The mission of SVDP Moorestown is to serve those in need with compassion and dignity. We are committed to alleviating poverty

and providing support to individuals and families in our community.

"The Lord keeps faith forever, secures justice for the oppressed,

and gives food to the hungry."

In 2025, due to the great  generosity of our donors, we utilized nearly $60,000 to provide financial assistance to our guests.  This included:

  • More than  $37,000 of housing payments to keep 53 families in their homes or provide new housing for homeless individuals and families
  • Over $7,000 of grocery and food supplies to fight food insecurity with 280 ShopRite and Walmart cards
  • Nearly $5,000 in back utility payments to keep the lights and the heat on for multiple families
  • Helped many families with car repairs, insurance and medical bills to ensure they could make their housing payments.

Preventing homelessness and food insecurity are our priorities.

More than 98% of your donations go directly to those in need.

Thank you for your continued kindness and generosity!

Preventing Homelessness

Preventing Homelessness

Homelessness is a national epidemic and a critical crisis in our own community. Several of our local families are currently homeless. Keeping families, especially those with children or the elderly, in their homes is our top priority. Donations enable us to help with rent, mortgages, safety repairs and general emergencies during tough times.

Keeping the Lights ON

Food Insecurity Solutions

Preventing Homelessness

Through county and Federal programs, such as LIHEAP, and partnering with energy providers, we help neighbors who are behind on utility payments keep their homes running. Electricity, heat and water are basic needs. Donations keep the lights on for dozens of families!

Casseroles are always welcome!

Food Insecurity Solutions

SVDP Moorestown kept a family in their home last month thanks to your generous donations. Unexpected health issues and hospitalization led to missed work, impacting the family's ability to pay their rent. Until this emergency happened, the family had always been on time with all their payments. Your support enabled us to keep them in their home and give a much needed "hand up" during a difficult time. Thanks to your donations, everyone is home, dad is back to work and they are on the road to a full recovery physically and financially!

Due to the support she received from SVDP, a young mother to whom we supply food remarked "I was so thankful for the food and delivery for my children when I was too sick to shop."

Moorestown Food Pantries provide much needed grocery support to neighbors in need. To supplement that support, SVDP has had successful Food Drives in partnership with The Knights of Columbus--to keep our pantries' shelves full--thank you!! Your  financial donations help us provide ShopRite cards as mentioned above.
